Woodruff Middle School

 End Notes

Notes from the Director:

I am so proud of this group and all their hard work.  This was no small task and the kids really took this show to heart and love it and it shows on stage.  We would be remiss if we didn't recognize Mrs. Donna Terry and Mrs. Michelle Curio for starting our Dessert Theatre Program.

It is very hard to articulate my thanks to Freddie and Myrna Gershon, Tim McDonald, Marty Johnson, Cindy Ripley, Steven Kennedy, Lindsay Lupi, and iTheatrics for what they've done for our program and for me personally.  We have all learned so much from them over the summers and years.  They are role models and educators as well as who many of us would like to be when we grow up.  I am indebted to you all for your friendship, knowledge and experiences but more importantly what you've given my students.

As you can and will see, there was a lot of collaboration this year not just from our community, but from a national audience.  I can't express my gratitude for my 2013 Freddie G Award winning classmates for their help and especially Shirlee for coming and helping with the costumes!  I am so humbled to call you all classmates and friends!

I also can't forget my long time collaborators, and co-director/set and costume designers for the past years, Mrs. Deanna Nicosia-Jones & Michelle Curio.  This amazing opportunity really came from our collaborative effort with the parents and kids working as a team over the past years and thank you for mentoring me these years.

A big time thank you to Donna Harrington and Carla Plummer for stepping in as assistant director and choreographer.  You were amazing with the kids and kept the ship afloat when I was out.  I can't tell you how much I appreciate your work.

If you didn't know it, the leads of this show rehearsed for 3-4 hours on Saturdays, holidays, half days and any other time they could rehearse.  Many times it was at Noah's house.  Thank you to Noah, Corrine, Connor Max, Logan, Amanda, Kassidy, Emma, Donny, Zach and everyone else who came on their off time because they wanted to make this a memorable experience.  And thank you to the Erianne's for opening up your home and feeding us all those times!
