Note from mrs. r:
So much gratitude for all of the above as well every student involved in this exceptional spectacle. No matter on stage or off we all remembered and learned an extraordinary amount of stage etiquette, rehearsal protocol, and all of the components that make the show go on. We were so blessed last year to have the production we did, but it was not a typical rehearsal season and our Freshmen came to the high school with an inconsistent level of understanding of the stage. We made it through by coaching each other and remembering that we are always teaching and learning.
I need to give a huge personal thank you to Allison Arjes and Elyse Storlie. These two young women were instrumental in keeping me sane and picking up the little pieces I would forget about. Allison was coached (or coerced) into stepping into our stage-managing position by her predecessor Annie Peerman and has risen to the task like a champ. Elyse made the mistake of asking what she could do to help as a freshman and forever after has been a gem to take the things off my plate in running the front of the house that I just don't have time to manage on my own. I'm so grateful Allison is a junior and really hope there is another Elyse Storile waiting in the wings somewhere. There isn't a word that fits how grateful I am for the two of you.
The beauty of performing Annie this year has been the content. It's a story of a young girl figuring out what family is, a grumpy billionaire understanding that there is more to life than money and how optimism is a key component to change.
Through it all, we have learned it is important for everyone on the team to stay healthy, it's very important to be present - literally and figuratively- there are no small parts when it comes to a musical, and when in doubt, the sun will come up tomorrow.
Time is the most valuable non-renewable resource, and I am grateful you choose to spend some of your time supporting us. Thank you!
