NOTES FROM THE DIRECTOR
I am extremely proud of this production. I never thought I would say we were producing "Shrek" simply because it is not one of my favorite moveis. However, once I listened to the music for the show, I fell in love with the characters I've known since I was little.
This show has been a huge undertaking-- more so than I or my cast thought it would be. Without the help of key individuals and the patience of my cast and crew, we would not be here singing and dancing as elaborate fairytale creatures and characters we know and love. The sets and props alone were a feat, but then there were the costumes and making sure they not only fit but worked while completing difficult movement and dances on stage. All in all, this has been a dream show and one of my favorites to date.
I would like to extend my gratitude and thanks to my administrators, faculty, and staff members for always showing up and supporting not only the arts but my students as well. You will never know how much that means to the students when they see your faces at a show! This is also the first time in the history of SGCHS that we have sold out every show before opening night. THANK YOU.
Thank you to my middle school and elementary school students and their families. This has been so much fun seeing their personalities come to life on stage.
