Morris Catholic High School

 DIRECTOR'S NOTES

It is hard to put into words what directing CLUE has been like. From the call-back audition, I knew that this play would be a joy to work on. I have had the honor of getting to know these young performers in several dramatic productions, but I had never seen the full range of their talents for comedy. It has been one of my favorite experiences at Morris Catholic, simply watching them showcase the full ranges of their dynamic personalities. I have seen students I have taught for years do things I never knew they could do! I know that it will be a wonderful experience for our audiences to witness these young actors create characters unlike any they have seen before.

In my life, I have constantly been healed by the power of laughter. Working on this show has given me the gift of laughter every day. Any hard day was made easier by the joy the students involved in this play brought to each practice. The long hours of rehearsing with three casts were made easier and more enjoyable because we all share the same commitment to choosing and spreading joy.

Thank you very much to the incredible cast and crew, and I also want to thank, in particular, the Class of 2023. Thank you for your unconditional commitment to the Performing Arts at Morris Catholic and your maturity and humility as you took on these roles and responsibilities. You have left your mark at this school. You have strengthened the program and helped make me a better director. Thank you.

Thank you to all who made this production happen. It could not happen without your support and kindness.

Thank you,

Amy Bauer

Director
