Jill Henwood - Artistic Director/Choregrapher
Jill is thrilled to be helping Liberty Union Musical Theater again this year. This is Jill’s fourth production with LUMT, but as a 1995 graduate, Jill’s history with Liberty Union goes way back to the 90s when she choreographed and participated in many LU show choirs and pops concerts. “I never imagined I would have this opportunity to direct in this space, and I am absolutely loving this part of life.” Jill has also directed and/or performed with Millersport Community Theatre, Bremen Hysterical Society Dinner Theatre, Wagnalls Community Theatre, and the Victoria Players Children’s Theater. In 2020, Jill won the Spirit of Community Theatre award from the Ohio Community Theatre Association (OCTA). In 2021, she joined OCTA as a regional rep. Additionally, she serves as secretary and membership chair for the Baltimore Downtown Restoration Committee.

“I want to thank Emily Fisher for the opportunity, and I cherish our friendship that has developed from this partnership. Additionally a large thank you goes out to everyone who helps put these magnificent shows together: Melissa Sponseller and all of her costume helpers, Nic Fisher for becoming a set and prop designer overnight, all of the parents who encourage their children to do theater (and get them to and from rehearsal), and the many wonderful kids who will take the stage this weekend. And last, but not least, thank you to my husband, kids (one of whom is manning the lights for the show), and family for helping transport kids when I was at rehearsals. On with the show!”

Emily Fisher - Music Director/Producer
Emily Fisher has taught Vocal Music at Liberty Union Middle and High Schools since 2006.  She is a graduate of Capital University for both her Bachelors and Masters Degrees in Music Education, and also holds an endorsement in Gifted Education.  She is grateful to work as a team with Jill to create high quality theater experiences for Liberty Union students.

Mrs. Fisher is passionate about teaching a wide variety of skills through music and the performing arts.  She loves using music to give students a way to connect with people from all over the world and have them step outside of their comfort zones.

She would especially like to thank her husband Nic for his understanding of her hours away and his dedication to the theater program at Liberty Union by helping create hundreds of pieces of scenery over the years (he may not have known what he was signing up for at the start!).
