Now in its 57th year since its opening in May 1960 at the Sullivan Street Playhouse in New York, The Fantasticks has become the longest running production of any kind in the history of American theatre.  At the time of its closing (scheduled for June 4, 2022) the production will have played a total of 21,552 performances in New York.
