Stephen Hillenburg’s fascination with the ocean as a child led him to pursue a degree in marine biology while simultaneously minoring in art. SpongeBob Squarepants was initially developed as an educational comic book, created to introduce and teach students about undersea life. Although written for children, SpongeBob can be just as meaningful and inspirational for adults.
SpongeBob’s quirky world in Bikini Bottom is filled with simple joys - the possibilities as the sun comes up and smiles on a new day, the magic of bubbles, or the fun of running through jellyfish fields. Every day is a new beginning and adventure waiting to be explored. SpongeBob's unending optimism reminds us that whatever comes, there’s just one thing to do - make the best day ever with all of you.
Thank you for being part of our underwater journey which began four months ago. Our quirky world of the Hastings Drama Club has brought together students from different grades, abilities, and experiences. We learned how to work, sing, dance, and laugh together and, much like Bikini Bottom, create a world where “all are welcome here”.
