Directors Note from Debra Martuscello Wiley

Once again it is my profound honor to bring Tom Frey’s Adaptation of Charles Dickens “A Christmas Carol” to life onstage. This is one of the most simple and beautiful versions of this timeless tale I have ever had the pleasure of performing in and directing. Dickens himself lived through the Cholera Epidemic that devastated London in the 1800’s, it seems appropriate that his works continue to be popular because their lessons continue to be timely. Dickens himself became a proponent of public health and was outspoken about the unhealthy conditions throughout Victorian England. He continues to teach us with his beautiful writings.
I want to personally thank Tom Frey for giving this gift to the Garrison Players and it’s audience, hoping it brings back some joy to our holiday season. Thank you also to this amazing Multi-generational cast and crew who have worked so hard to bring these characters to life. I dedicate this production to my mentor, my North Star in theater Carlton Guptill. And as Tiny Tim observed, “God Bless Us Everyone!”
