Notes From The Director

"Somewhere inside all of us is the power to change the world." --Roald Dahl.

We all have to reach within ourselves and find that power at some time in our lives, especially with the events of the last 2 years. I'm proud to present Matilda, Jr. as our first CTMS Musical back since the 2020 shutdown! This year I have been swept away by the incredible power of this community. CTMS is truly a family, and we have worked tirelessly to bring this story to life for you amidst laughter, excitement, and the pure joy of working together.

If you are new to our family, welcome. Our hope as a cast and crew is to provide you with a bit of magic. With luck, you will be given the opportunity to share that magic with others and, little by little, we will see that magic change the world. That magic couldn't be shared with you tonight without the tireless work of music director Caroline Beal, our Theatre Booster Board: Secretary Rena Arnold, Treasurer David Foster, and Chair Rebecca Rodriguez, and our many incredible volunteers. I am blown away by your help and comradery, and I am thankful for your presence every day.

Based on the twisted genius of Roald Dahl's beloved story, the Tony Award-winning Matilda is a story that revels in the chaos of childhood, the power of imagination, and the tenacity of a little girl who dreams of a better life. Allow yourself to let go of adulthood for the evening: dream recklessly and love loudly, and enjoy the CTMS production of Matilda, Jr.!
