When choosing this year’s show, we were faced with various difficulties; but our biggest challenge: time. Historically, the CMS show has auditions the second or third week of school. At that point, we didn’t even have a show picked.Once we settled on The Lion King Jr., we had 10 weeks to audition, block, learn music and dances, as well as bring the Pridelands to the CMS/CHS stage. This being many actors' first time on stage, we had a lot of work ahead of us. The kids you are seeing perform this musical tonight are not the same kids who came to audition. They have grown immensely and shown that when faced with challenges that are beyond their control, if you stay determined, focus, and want it badly enough, it will happen. That is exactly what you are seeing here with our performance of Disney’s The Lion King Jr.. I am so proud of these students and what they have accomplished. Their positive attitude, perseverance, and determination are what made this show happen. It has been so fun to direct and I hope that you enjoy the show!
