Bryan Stanton
Director and Technical Director
Bryan is the head theatre director for AHISD. In 2021, he had the honor to be the AHISD Educator of the Year, Texas Thespians Trailblazer, Learning Disabilities Association of Texas Bright Light, and Trinity University Excellence in Education Honoree.
Bryan is currently pursuing a Master of Arts degree in Theatre from University of Houston with an emphasis on Theatre Education to continue to elevate the theatre program at Alamo Heights High School. Bryan is an active member of the Educational Theatre Association, Texas Educational Theatre Association, American Alliance for Theatre Education and has been featured on Theatre Educational podcasts such as ThedTalks and MinorWisdom. In 2021 he had an article published by Character.org on the impact of the
arts on the development of character in teenagers. I am so incredibly proud of all the students involved in this production. You are truly amazing!

David Short
Music Director
David Short is returning to Alamo Heights High School for his second year as a Mule, and his eleventh year teaching high school choir. He is the head of choirs for Alamo Heights High School, as well as the AP Music Theory teacher. This is his first musical at Alamo Heights, and he previously was the musical director for Judson High School’s production of Hairspray in 2015. He holds both his Bachelors of Music and Masters of Arts in Teaching from Trinity University in San Antonio. Mr. Short is the Artistic Director and sings tenor for San Antonio’s professional men’s choir, IlluMen, and he has sung professionally with the San Antonio Chamber Choir, San Antonio Opera Chorus. He is an active member of the Texas Music Educators Association, American Choral Directors Association, Texas Choral Directors Association, and the Texas Music Adjudicators Association. He is a frequent clinician, judge, host, and sponsor at TMEA and UIL events around the state. When he is not singing or teaching, he enjoys spending time with his wife, their daughter Quinn, and dog, Loki.
