Disney's Finding Nemo, jr. - May 16 - May 26, 2024

Young Actors' Theatre

 A Note from the director

“Disney's Finding Nemo Jr.” presents a rich tapestry of universal themes, spanning from friendship and bravery to perseverance and unconditional love. Through Marlin’s journey to rescue Nemo, the narrative touches upon various aspects of the human experience, highlighting the value of embracing diversity and mutual support. The characters’ struggles such as Nemo’s limb difference and Dory’s memory loss, serve as poignant reminders of the value of kindness and empathy. Their journey reminds us that amidst significant struggles, there are opportunities for growth, laughter, and the formation of meaningful connections with others.

Focusing on kindness both on and off stage, underscores the transformative impact of small acts of kindness. My “Kindness Box” tradition, a literal box with notepaper, is placed in rehearsal for the kids to document moments of goodwill, which helps create a nurturing and inclusive environment for all involved.  Witnessing young performers share their observations of kindness both in written words and actions, is profoundly impactful to me. I feel their joy and excitement in every rehearsal and performance, often moving me to tears of happiness.

The dedication and passion of the YAT theatre community in bringing stories like “Finding Nemo Jr” to life are truly remarkable.
