The Lion King Jr - May 10 - May 20, 2018

Young Actors' Theatre

 A NOTE FROM THE DIRECTOR

"Remember who you are."

This is my favorite quote from the show.  It has always been my motto, and I am trying to instill it in my children, and all of our children.

I have been struck by the depth in this show.  I saw the original version on Broadway and it was visually stunning, but it overshadowed the music and message of the play.  It is only now that I have discovered the amazing music, and the life lessons that are so important.  It deals with life, love and loss.  It is the journey from childhood to adulthood, suffering great loss, denial, growing up, and finally learning our worth, doing what is right, and seeing our true strength over life's adversities.  It is everyone's journey.

I am so proud of this cast.  We have asked them to go above and beyond, and they have conquered!  Enjoy the beauty and the art that you are creating!  Stand tall, and be proud of all you have accomplished!

Wilfred and Jerrica - I am beyond grateful for all your brilliance!  I cannot have imagined this journey without you.  I have learned so much from both of you.  Thanks for being my teammates and my friends.  I love you!

Astrid - thank you for always having my back and for making this production a reality. You rock!  Luis - Thanks for being a part of the team!  It was lovely working with you.

Jamie and Jess - there are never enough words to say thank you.

Dena, Melissa, John, and all of the committees - THANK YOU!  This is a show unlike any other.  You have made my rambling visions reality.  I am in awe of all you have done to make this show a success.

Jason and John - Thanks for helping me make my visions reality with your artistry.

A special shout out to my fabulous husband, Tom Racine, for designing all the shields, cut-outs, and animals.  You are amazing!  Thanks for putting up with my craziness all these years.  I love you.

Thanks to YAT for inviting me to be a part of this wonderful organization.  I admire the creativity, inclusiveness, and educational opportunities you give to all of our children.  I love the community that you have created.
