ALADDIN, Jr. - November 08 - November 17, 2013

Young Actors' Theatre

 End Note

FROM THE DIRECTOR, PERRY LEE

Disney movies were always my favorite as a child. Aladdin was the movie that my mom would put on to get me to sit still for awhile. As a child I remember thinking I wanted to be just like Aladdin. And now, when I think about why I liked Aladdin there could have been many reasons. Aladdin starts off as a young man wondering through life not sure of what direction to take. He then falls in love with the girl of his dreams and changes himself to get her to notice him. Aladdin then realizes that he never had to change and being himself is enough.  In the midst of that he finds a magic carpet, magic lamp and the hilarious Genie of the lamp.  I loved Aladdin because he gave me hope. He helped me believe I could be and do anything as long as I stayed true to myself and believed in myself. That is the moral of the story in my opinion. Be yourself and believe in yourself, two simple concepts, but words everyone needs to hear every so often. Our production of Aladdin will do just that and hopefully make you laugh a few times.

I would like to thank Savannah for everything she has done for this show. She worked so hard on our set and stage managed the show at the same time. I am extremely proud of the work that she has produced for this show and I can’t wait to see where her talent takes her. Also I would like to thank Katie Wallace for all of her support. It has been a pleasure working with her and I can’t wait for the next show. I would also like to give a big thank you to all the parents and board members who worked so hard on this show. Countless hours went into the sets, props, costumes and etc. I just want everyone to know that I truly appreciate everyone’s hard work.
