Welcome to Winnacunnet! As a 30+ year music teacher whose second "career" now includes teaching theatre and directing plays, I finally decided after six years of comedies to have a go at a drama, and this was the perfect play with which to start. The students have risen to the occasion, and have bought in to the power and emotion of this important story. It's my sincere hope that we do justice to the lives that were impacted by these events, and that you leave with a desire to know more about the Radium Girls, as there is so much more to these compelling events than we were able to share here tonight.
To our seniors, thank you for all of your hard work and leadership by example and by deed. Your four years of theatre experience here have been quite unique, and I appreciate your resilience, desire for growth, and especially your leadership.
Alexa, I was so glad to find a play and a role in which you could truly shine, and your acting has been a joy to watch.
Jackson, I am so proud of how you have grown and and matured as a person and as a student, but above all, I have appreciated watching your acting skills develop in roles from a couch-laden slacker to a hapless plant manager.
Julianna, your passion for theatre shows in all that you do: your acting, your makeup skills, and above all your leadership. It's been a pleasure working with you on all aspects of these plays.
Allie, you certainly put in the hours over the past four years, working your way up from "fake Malfoy" and "chorus girl" to finally getting a lead role, in which you have certainly blossomed as an actor. Thank you for all of your hard work.
Kat, it's always a pleasure working with you, and I especially appreciate your stepping up to help out with the many tasks of being a director. I'm only disappointed you didn't get involved with our theatre department sooner!
Haley, as someone with such amazing artistic and writing skills, you are a "Renaissance Person" in the truest sense of the word. You've taken every role you've been given seriously, no matter the size, and I'm thrilled to see you take the stage in a bigger role this year.
To my colleauges, Don, Diana, and Ben, this is truly a team effort, and I thank you for all of your hours of hard work making this production so special.
To the school board and administration of Winnacunnet High School and SAU 21, thank you for understanding that theatre is a vital part of so many of our students' lives. Your financial and scheduling support are deeply appreciated.
Sincerely,
Patrick Moore, director
P.S. Please come back and join us in March for the musical,
