Welcome to Wayzata’s 9/10 musical production of “Oklahoma!”. We are thrilled that you’re here.
The 9/10 musical is Wayzata’s stellar opportunity for freshmen and sophomores to have the chance to fully take the stage - and boy, did they! It’s no easy task to taking in blocking, music, and choreography - all while learning the ropes of being on stage, overcoming stage fright and getting acclimated to High School life and responsibilities. We’ve been lucky to have an incredibly talented group of students and staff who have poured their hearts into this production.
“Oklahoma!" was a groundbreaking musical at the time of its conception and release. Its original score, innovative choreography, and seamless integration of dance, music and storyline were nothing like anyone had ever seen. Perhaps one of the biggest reasons it was so revolutionary was because it was the first time the average American really saw themselves on stage.
Our goal in every production that we do is to ensure everyone feels seen, both during the process and in the final production on stage. "Everyone" includes cast, pit, tech crew and the audience - yes, you! Each person is an important piece of this puzzle and are as equally important to the success of the show as the next.
