Mama Mia - December 01 - December 09, 2023

Wake Forest High School

 Director's Notes

Welcome to WFHS Theatre Arts Production's spectacular production of "Mamma Mia"!

As we embark on this musical journey, I am thrilled to present to you the culmination of months of dedication, passion, and talent from our incredible students. "Mamma Mia" is a celebration of love, laughter, and the timeless music of ABBA, and it has been an absolute joy to bring this iconic story to life on our stage.

This production is a testament to the hard work and commitment of our cast, crew, and production team. Witnessing the growth and dedication of these young performers has been truly inspiring. They have poured their hearts into every song, dance move, scene, and set piece to create a show that I hope will leave you tapping your feet, singing along, and ultimately, with a smile on your face.

Set on a picturesque Greek island, "Mamma Mia" invites you into a world filled with joy, romance, and the irresistible beats of ABBA's classic hits. Through the story of Sophie, her spirited mother Donna, and the quest to discover her father's identity, we hope to transport you to a place where music ignites emotions and where love knows no bounds.

In the spirit of this production, I encourage you to embrace the infectious energy, immerse yourself in the music, and let the uplifting rhythms of ABBA carry you away.

Thank you to the amazing creative team that make it all happen. Our musical director, Chase Wilson, stepped in and up & polished our performer's voices to shine like a disco ball! Thank you to our dedicated staff, TAP Boosters, supportive families, and the Wake Forest community for your unwavering encouragement and enthusiasm. Your presence here tonight is a testament to the importance of the arts in our lives and in the lives of these talented young performers.

Sit back, relax, and get ready to dance and jive! Please join us with our sing-a-long songs after Bows! We hope you enjoy our rendition of "Mamma Mia"!

With gratitude,

Kristin Rendina
