John M. Carmack
Director
Mr. Carmack is a graduate of Bowling Green State University with degrees in Choral Music Education (2009), Choral Conducting, and Vocal Performance (2011). He has directed musicals and other stage productions for Huron Playhouse, the Black Swamp Players in Bowling Green, 3B Productions in Maumee, Otsego and Springfield High Schools, and numerous student -organizations at BGSU. He is in his seventh year at Vermilion High School, directing the Mixed Chorus, VHS Chorale, Soundsation, and other dramatic productions at the High School. He was also the recipient of the 2017 OMEA Young Music Educator of the Year Award.

Kim Judd
Assistant Director
Kim is the Director of Bands at Vermilion High School. She graduated from Otterbein University with a Bachelor of Music Education and has taught instrumental and vocal music for 19 years. In addition, she has directed 14 musicals and 4 plays over the course of her career. Kim has also played in multiple shows, ensembles, and churches. Kim resides in Vermilion with her husband, Bob and her daughter, Bella. When not in the band room, Kim and her family enjoy going to Cedar Point and making trips to Walt Disney World Resort.

N. Brett Dawson
Orchestra Director
Mr. Dawson is a graduate of the College of Wooster where he earned his Bachelor of Music Education degree with an emphasis in Instrumental Music Education. Mr. Dawson is in his third year teaching in Vermilion; he is the lead teacher of the middle school (5-7) bands, directs the Symphonic Band and assists with the Sailor Marching Band. When Mr. Dawson is not teaching, he enjoys coaching swimming with the Vermilion Torpedoes, reading and spending time with his cat, Sulley.
