Friends of the Department contributions help to fund memberships for accreditation with National Association of School Theatres, Big Ten New Play Consortium; student, faculty, and staff participation in conferences, department events, guest artists and other distinguished visitors, software and equipment.
Friends of University Theatre contributions support the productions of the Department, allowing students, faculty, and staff the opportunity to transform theory and practice into performances for the campus and public.
In addition to the Friends Contributions, the Department has identified areas that could benefit from specific sponsorships.
Student Support includes funding for new and current scholarships and fellowships, community internships, and travel to conferences and competitions.
Faculty Support includes named and endowed professorships, innovative faculty research, international travel, and sponsoring guest artists for productions.
Student Experience Support seeks to remedy outdated technology and old structures of the Mitchell (thrust) and Hemsley (black box) theatres. A long-standing dream of the department is for a brand-new proscenium theatre, as well.
