A Note from the Director:
Pineapple Theatre is a student-run organization that was created to give students of all majors opportunities to pursue theatre throughout college. Whether it’s to further develop your skills as a performer, to gain hands-on experience with all the technical elements that go into a show, to learn what goes into producing or directing a production, or to scratch the all-too-familiar itch anyone who has been bitten by the theatre bug would recognize, we are proud to be able to provide these opportunities to students. The only reason this organization has been able to grow from producing our first musical last spring, to what it has become today, is because of the incredible students who are so willing to share their knowledge and experiences to support each other in any way they can. We are very grateful to the industry professionals who have offered up their talents and expertise to help make this show so much better than any of us dreamed it could be.
When we decided to produce Into the Woods for our second-ever musical, there were worries that we were being too ambitious for our own good. However, we couldn’t deny how drawn we were to the themes and relationships in the story, and how reflective they were of our lives as college students. Whether it’s heading off to college, or into the woods, you are bound to make mistakes along the way. Although we are unsure of where our paths are headed, it’s the people we meet on the journey who remind us that no one is alone.
On behalf of Pineapple Theatre, we thank you for your continued support and we are proud to share this story with you tonight.
Thank you,
Kathryn Royce
