We are proud to announce that FTX Productions will be donating a portion of our proceeds to Capital Rainbow Refuge. They have written a message about the wonderful work their group does, which we have included below.
"Capital Rainbow Refuge is a group of more than two dozen primarily LGBT members of the Ottawa community. We are a diverse group of professionals, lawyers, law students and community members who are engaged in sponsoring sexual minority refugees. We are also actively mentoring others to take up the challenge to utilize the Canada’s private sponsorship program in support of LGBT refugees. We are heartened that many others have joined us by founding sponsorship groups. Capital Rainbow Refuge looks to harness the talent and generosity of our community in support of refugees. Capital Rainbow Refuge has received support and financial contributions from a number of prominent gay and lesbian community members and organizations in Ottawa, as well as many individuals. We also learned a great deal from faith groups about refugee sponsorship, and are especially grateful to the Unitarian congregation who partnered with us to accelerate the application process.
We have embraced sponsorships from South East Asia, the Middle East, and Africa. Bolstered by our success, we are moving ahead with sponsorships for two more individuals, and to accomplish this, we are now creating a new nest egg, and are open to donations from like-minded members of our community, to support these next two sponsorship applications. We’re confident we can provide a safe, welcoming environment for other refugees in the future."
