Joe Brainard
Director
Joe is a native of the Southern Tier. Joe Holds degrees from BCC, The Crane School of Music , and Stony Brook University. Joe performs in many venues and genres through-out the area. Joe is a music teacher at UE. Joe is an instructor for the Tigers' Pride Marching Band, Theater manager, as well as the 7th and 8th grade band director. Joe assistant directed JFS’s Production of Music Man before directing productions of Disney’s Mulan Jr., Annie Jr., Seussical Jr., Willy Wonka Jr., Little Mermaid Jr., Aladdin Jr., and Shrek Jr.. Joe also has assistant directed the UEHS productions of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Les Miserables, and My Fair Lady. Joe directed productions of Godspell, Phantom of the Opera, Cinderella, Footloose, and is excited to be back to direct this year's production of Rock of Ages. Thanks to all who spent tireless hours to make this production a success. Thank you to my friends and family, but most of all the cast!
Matthew Vavalle
Assistant Director
Matthew Vavalle is a pianist, vocalist, conductor, and music educator residing in Binghamton, NY.
He trained vocally at the Conservatory of Music at Purchase College. He has sung operatic and musical theater roles throughout the Tri-State area with companies including Syracuse Opera, Cape Cod Opera,Cortland Repertory Theater, and The Cider Mill Playhouse. He works as a music teacher for Pre-k-8th grade at Holy Family Catholic School in Norwich,NY and All Saints Catholic school in Endicott. He serves as organist and Director of Music for Our Lady of Sorrows Church in Vestal,NY. He also maintains a piano and voice studio in Binghamton. He gives special thanks to his wife Kelly and their two, (soon to be three) children who are the most important people in his life! Enjoy the show!
