There are many reasons why people start a theatre company, just as there are many different ways of making theatre, and many different ways of operating a company. Garth Gersten, Mike Galloway, and I believe that, in creating Twin City Theatre Company aka Twin City Squared, a community theatre should give back to the people involved.
Giving back to the actors, directors, designers, and other staff members involved with Twin City Squared is important to us. This is an idea that is new to the local community theatre. Many community theatre groups rely on volunteers for staff or performers. Twin City Squared was created to give back to the staff and performers;nearly every person involved in a show will be paid a small stipend and share in the profits. This sets us apart.
What else sets us apart? We want to do shows that are not being done by other groups. This gives more people additional opportunities to perform and get involved. We have so many talented people in the area, and we want them to find their niche. That new niche is Twin City Squared.
Garth, Mike, and I hope that we fill that niche with enthusiast, talented, and dedicated theatre artists. Welcome to Twin City Squared.
