Michael Strawderman (Director):  A Midsummer Night on the Jersey Shore will mark Michael’s 218th play production here at THMS. An alum of Broadway High School and Virginia Commonwealth University (BFA Theatre Education), Michael has been teaching at THMS for twenty-eight years. During his tenure at THMS, his productions have received numerous accolades, including 10 gold rankings in the Virginia Theatre  Association’s Middle School Play Festival. Some of his honors include being selected as the 2007 THMS Teacher of the Year and receiving an Excellence in Education STAR Award from the 2016 HHS graduating class. On the rare occasions that he isn’t involved in a play production, he enjoys traveling and making travel videos (check out his channel on YouTube - he could really use some "likes") watching movies, working on his model train layout, and spending time with his family. He thanks his wife, Lauren, for giving him up for the last two and half months to put on this play.
