The Lion King KIDS - December 15

Theater in the Park

 End Notes

NOTE FROM THE DIRECTOR:

This is my 5th show I’ve directed for the KIDS program at TITP and, out of all of them, this is the most complex for young performers. With the different languages and the fight scenes, I was definitely challenged as a director. Luckily, I had an amazing staff behind me to help bring Lion King Kids to life. Without the help of Mr. Phil, my amazing assistant director, Sierra the fabulous choreographer and Erin and Marie the best creative assistances in Severna Park, I would not have been able to do it! Lion King is one of those classic Disney movies we grow up watching over and over and find ourselves singing along with the music, even as as adults.  It teaches the lesson that if we believe in ourself, we can over come fear and doubt. I always enjoy working with young kids because I love to watch them grow as a performer from the first rehearsal to the last. Seeing them beam with pride because they learned a dance and remembered their line, makes it all worth it. Like Timon always says "Hakunamatata,  no worries for the rest of your days"! We hope you enjoy the show!
