Noises Off - November 29 - December 01, 2013

The University of Texas at Austin

 End Notes

From doors to sardines, this production process has been anything but normal.  This play has been a thrill ride of emotions and at times, the event that made us second guess our sanity.  However, leaning on each other helped us get through the production process.  We also had the best cast and crew any directors could have imagined and we could not have been more blessed.  Noises Off has proven to us that a farce takes the same amount of hard work and dedication as any highly acclaimed mellow-drama.  We hope Noises Off serves the purpose of entertaining as well as enlightening spectators.   A comedy play can produce a certain theatrical sustenance that a drama simply cannot.  Though the themes and ideas of the play do not contain the key to all the wisdom and knowledge of the world, Noises Off provides a truthful understanding of what it takes to work with others and the silly events that unravel behind the curtains the audience is unaware of.  All in all, we hope every single one of you, whether you are eight or eighty-two, are a part of the theatre, or just want to see your son or daughter perform, enjoy tonight’s production of farce and laughter.  But remember my friends, doors and sardines; that is really what it’s all about!
