A Note From The President
A return to normal (for any given value of 'normal')
The concerns and restrictions of the recent past appear to be receding, which is a VERY GOOD THING! And do you know what else is a very good thing? Our 2023 Season! (Extra points for a smooth link there?)
We start off with a big, warm hug of a show in the classic ON GOLDEN POND by Ernest Thompson. Jane Farnol is back at the Playhouse to deliver this sharply witty, beautifully observed gem.
Then on to another set of Senior Citizens - the not-quite-so-well-behaved FOUR OLD BROADS of Leslie Kimbell's hilarious romp! Directed by Kate Kovacs, this is bound to be just as much fun as her record breaking production of STEPPING OUT was last season.
Time for a bit of culture next - well kind of... Kate Hamill's award winning PRIDE AND PREJUDICE is a cleverly absurd take on Jane Austen's classic. New to the Sherman Playhouse, Michael J Frohnhoefer directs this frenetic and frankly hilarious tale of polite(?) Georgian society.
And we just can't keep him away (believe me, we've tried!) - Local favorite Bradford Blake is back! He's bringing his highly irreverant Holiday extravaganza WRECK THE HALLS to our stage once more - with songs and routines updated for 2023!
And as if that weren't enough - this year we're trying something new! It's been our goal for a long time to do more to support local playwrights and new, original works. To this end we're delighted to host our inaugral set of SPECIAL PRESENTATION productions - two completely new plays staged between our regular Main Stage shows. First will be Dean Alexander's PERSONALITY CONFLICTS in early June, and then in mid-August we bring you YASHICA 8 by Kevin Sosbe.
Add to all this various ad-hoc events and, another first for us, Karaoke nights hosted by Big Al Chiappetta, and you'll see it's going to be a busy 2023!
