E. E. Wade (Playwright)
E.E. Wade listens to trap music and burns incense while she writes. Somehow that inspirational combo has led to her becoming an award-winning content creator and writer for the stage and screen.Current resident of LA, but a native of Birmingham, Alabama, she has always been fascinated with history. As a child, that made her absorb family stories like a griot. She officially began her writing career in 2006 when she applied for entrance into The Alabama School of Fine Arts to study creative writing as a ninth grader. After gaining entry into the school, she created the school's first Black History Program, became the reining champ of a city wide spoken word contest, was a contributing writer for the metropolitan newspaper, and figured out the hustle of writing. She's been defining that hustle ever since. Her works can be seen anywhere from Blavity to The Historic 13th Street Repertory Theatre in New York. Playwright in Residence for The Gnome Haus.
