The Generic Theater

 CREATIVE TEAM

Jane Springstead  (Choreographer)

Jane Springstead grew up in Virginia Beach, singing and dancing. In her childhood and teens, she studied dance at the Starting Pointe School of Dance, and moved to Philip Deal's Dance Company in her older teens. She studied dance while pursuing her bachelor's degree in Music Therapy at Shenandoah University. Once graduated, she started teaching Ballet and Tap at Old Broad's Way and then at Quality Music Music and Dance. Stage credits include: Rapunzel: Into the Woods: Mrs. Winthrup: The Secret Garden and various ensemble roles. Choreography credits include: various  musicals at Landstown High School and Salem's VPAA Musical Theater Class, and Gypsy at LTVB. She is excited to show her talents through the talents of those on stage in this wonderful production, and can’t wait to be Mrs. Jane Trahan come December!

Sky Curtis (Light Design) returns to Generic after designing lights and scenery for last season’s production of “Circle Mirror Transformation.” Sky brings with him a broad range of technical experience in light, sound and scenic design. He has helmed productions at the Patriot Playhouse, and works at Stage Right Lighting.

Christian Garthright (Sound Design) has been busy 7:00am to midnight recent weeks working productions for The Roper, the Virginia Stage Company, and the Virginia Arts Festival. With more than 25 years experience in the music industry, Christian is a recording artist with Sacrifice Records. When time allows he performs with musical groups Astral, The Step Gods and Arborea.

Charles Owrey (Sound Technician) made his Generic Theater debut with the last production, “Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson.” If that play sounded like a rock concert, Charles is why. A relative newcomer to Hampton Roads, Charles has worked for FSR, VAE and TESCO. He can be seen blending into the background setting up sound for shows at the nTelos Pavilion, Sandler Center, and the Virginia Beach Main Stages.

Jeannette Rainey (Production Manager) is proud to be a part of this production team. She has helped produce more than 50 shows at Generic Theater and more than a dozen at other local venues. More of Jeannette’s coordination skills can also be enjoyed by attending The Olde Towne Ghost Walk on Friday, October 25th. All proceeds support the Olde Towne Civic League. Currently, Shane is the Scenic Charge Artist at Virginia Stage Company and is actively expanding his design resume.

Vlada Syneko (Assistant Sound Design) is excited to make her design debut with this production. Vlada holds a Bachelors degree in music and has extension experience as performer with the Theater of Opera and Ballet in Kiev, Ukraine.
