David B. Springstead, Sr. (Director)
With over four decades of theatrical experience, this is David's first production with Generic Theater. His long career includes directing in both his native Ohio, and here in the Old Dominion. The founding director of actin' in His Name Theatre Productions, which was based at his home church, he produced over ten years of community theatre in the Kempsville area. He has also, over the last several years, been the director of musicals at Landstown High School (Va Beach). His directorial show credits include, Fiddler on the Roof, The Odd Couple, South Pacific, A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, Rodgers and Hart: A Musical Celebration, Side by Side by Sondheim, The Miracle Worker, The Pirates of Penzance, Little Mary Sunshine, The King and I, and The Diary of Anne Frank. David is also a professional actor, and among his many productions on the east coast are four North American/National Tours out of NYC. A current member of the Board of Directors for Generic Theater, he is also the current Vice-President of the Little Theatre of Portsmouth, and is a former Board member of The Goodyear Theatre in Akron, Ohio. Todd Harris, Jr. (Stage Manager)
This is Todd’s second production with the Generic. Todd was just last seen on stage as John Quincy Adams and others in Generic Theater’s Production of “Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson” and is thrilled to be working as a Stage Manager for this production. His last Stage Manager role was over 10 years ago for the Germantown Community Theater of Memphis’ production of Arthur Kopit’s “Wings”. He would like to thank the Generic staff for this incredible opportunity, the director David Springstead, Sr. and his wife Angela who has supported him in his recent return to the theater.
Kristi Duke (Properties Design)
Kristi is absolutely thrilled to work on her fourth production with the Generic Theater down under the Chrysler. Kristi has worked with the Generic on productions of The Eulogist, Mr. Marmalade, and Arcadia, and with the College of the Albemarle on a production of Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. She would like to thank her family for their loving support and the Generic Theater for fostering a learning environment such as this.
Ryan McIntire(Special Effects)
Ryan is thrilled to return to the Generic, and bring more gore and mayhem as the effects supervisor. When I’m not dumping 17 gallons of blood on folks you can find me at a Ghent pub, choreographing fights and stunts in the area, at ODU teaching theatre and communications, or sometimes on stage right here in Norfolk. Previous shows at Generic have been Misery, The Witches, and the summer burlesque show.
