This is Curtain's second venture "Into the Woods" and I am lucky to be directing the show you will see tonight as well as 2 different casts in our educational versions in May. This makes "Into the Woods" our most produced show. Although my brain is sometimes befuddled by directing three separate casts this semester, I still really love this show and count it among my favorites. The stories by the Brothers Grimm are re-told here on our stage, and, although it is an adaptation, I feel we are holding true to the original spirit of the stories. The brothers were trying to teach lessons in their stories, and so are we. What those lessons are is up to you.
"Into the Woods" has been the recipient of Tonys, Oliviers and Drama Desks and is especially alive & well with a 2012 Public Theatre production in Central Park and a Disney movie being released this holiday season. It has been performed literally all over the world and is well produced by local and regional theatres.
I want to thank all of the talented actors and actresses who have brought these characters to life. It is my hope that they enjoyed not only performing roles from a wonderful musical, but also becoming the characters that they grew up with. Thanks also to our crew for all you have done to make the process a success. I hope you enjoy our production of “Into the Woods”, and may you all live happily ever after!

Careful the things you say
Children will listen
Careful the things you do
Children will see and learn
Children may not obey, but children will listen
Children will look to you for which way to turn
To learn what to be
Careful before you say "Listen to me"
