“Theatre is changing the world one play at a time, and I am honored to be a part of that change.”
Taking on students that are interested in learning what the stage is all about, Candice L. Alexander is blessed to be directing her 17th production here at Briarwood. Directorial credits include, Snoopy! The Musical, The Secret Garden, Rest in Peace, Clue! The Musical, Murder at the Grey’s Hound Mansion,The Great Pandemonium, The Wizard of Oz, Frankenstein, Oklahoma!, The Winter of 1917, Oliver!, If It’s Monday, This Must Be Murder, You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown, and What You Will. Her enthusiasm and love for theatre and performance is evident to students as they cross her path by way of the Public Speaking and Theatre classes she teaches. Her background proves she is no stranger to the theatre as she holds a BA in Theatre Arts and a Masters Degree in Humanities, both from the University of Colorado.
Candice stays involved in theatre throughout the year by serving as a Dramaturg for several main stage productions at The Ensemble Theatre. She is also a part of the Adjunct Faculty at Wharton County Junior College, Sugarland Campus, where she serves as a Humanities Instructor year round, and she is currently working on her Ph.D. in Social Psychology. She enjoys attending multicultural events, spending time with friends and family, and traveling abroad on volunteer missions, especially to Moshi, Tanzania, Africa, where she shares her time, enthusiasm, and energy, mentoring, motivating, and enhancing the life skills and social responsibilities of young women. She would like to thank the cast, crew, Ms. Liz and the Band, along with the production staff, for making this a most memorable show. It has been a great run…
Special thanks and dedications go to,
“the ones that never gave up on me.”
