A NOTE FROM The MUSIC TEAM
The Heidi Chronicles has been previously performed with recorded music, played at certain moments or scenes in the show. However, with this production, we felt as though the music played an integral role in the plot of the play and in many ways plays a supporting role in the show. We wanted to create the iconic music of this play live, in front of the audience, driving the energy of the play and contributing much more to the play than a recorded track ever could. The music team composed of Sawyer Nunes and Carmen Mascarenhas worked hard to teach the cast the music of the play, and orchastrate the band to achieve the best sound possible. Music plays a large role in any narrative, especially this one, and we felt as though the music deserved just as much respect and attention as the dialouge itself.
