For starters: big thanks to our administration for helping us realize our vision:
It takes a resourceful and trusting principal to give the go-ahead to an endeavor this grand. Thank you, Ms. Hyde, for continuing to champion our musical theatre vision. When the program grew this year so did your support. Welcome back and we hope you enjoy the show.
Mr. Schliessman, you are master of all things schedule and Googledoc extraordinaire. You helped us figure out the logistics of space and time and worked as inter-school liaison. For this and much more we are grateful.
And here comes Ms. Jordan: Jane of all trades, master of many. Proofreader, carpenter, creative solutionist, donater of free time, and overall go-to person for this project. You value our efforts, keep us on track, and feed us chocolate. Thank you for all that you are.
An artistic vision needs an artist: enter Vahan Nahabedian. Most set designers would do just that: design the set. You did something more powerful: you guided our students to do it. You used 50 minutes a week in an elective to organize the students and advise them and look at the beautiful result. Of course it's a huge job so you stayed after school and came in on weekends. Thank you for your time and your sense of community.
A very warm acknowledgement goes to a very warm and generous person: Ms. Cohen for donating many hours of her time to teach our cast about Middle Eastern dance. She helped our students understand the sense of mystery and intrigue underlying this art form and how to represent it physically. She relayed her love of that culture and helped the cast find their own connection to it.
Thank you to Frank Felix and the custodial staff for helping us with technical issues, clearing the stage, and just being an easy bunch to work with. A show this size couldn't go on without your help.
Thank you to Marcie Shaw, Parent Coordinator/wizard, who sent out many e-blasts to the cast and crew and families, to help organize, set dates, and give out updated information.
Programs, get your programs here! Our PTA parents are the best. You gracefully stepped in to improve our ticket system, photograph rehearsals, and assemble this program for the presses. Thank you so much for your support, especially to Adrienne Ratto, who led the team.
The head shots of students in this Playbill are thanks to the generosity of Anderson parent Kevin McCormick, who donated his services for our school photos again this year. See his work at KJMphoto.com.
To our amazing stage crew: you are a well-oiled machine. You keep order backstage and never miss a beat. You wear sets of keys fashionably. You fly magic carpets and make genies appear. You're awesome.
Lights, camera, action! The Anderson School Theatre cast of Aladdin Junior is a motivated group of young students who have grown and developed into seasoned actors. It is a great pleasure to sit in the audience and watch you take flight. You were fun to direct and will be a great pleasure to watch on stage this time and through the years.
Love, Ms. Sarah and Mr. Shaheen
