A Note From The Director

Welcome to our production of Annie and to our temporary venue in Taylorville Junior High School. Annie, a seven time Tony award winner, has been a smash hit  on Broadway and in London.  It has been made into movies for cinema and television from which many of you were made familiar with the upbeat songs from Annie. Who wouldn’t love the story of a perky little orphan stealing the heart of a powerful businessman? Annie’s optimism is a lesson we all can and should hear over and over again. Even though the show takes place in 1933 during the great depression, we still face similar challenges today.  

We are so happy to add some junior high students to our production this year and to be in their school while  the Taylorville High School construction of our new auditorium begins.  Yes, we are very excited about finally having a real theater where our students can shine their talents!!!. This cast has been just amazing, they have formed a musical family, enjoying each other’s talents while performing.

I’m so lucky to have such a wonderful production team- Rani Gosnell, Keith Chase, Kelsey LeVault, Chris Gunn and Tom Pickett.  I will miss my awesome stage managers Carson and Brandon Hefner as they graduate this May from THS.

Our goal is to send you on your way with a smile on your face and that one song that you just can’t get out of your head!!!! Always remember if you have a bad day, the sun will come out tomorrow!!!
