Tarbuton a San Diego based 501c3, founded in 2006, is an independent nonprofit social venture that reaches over 2000 households making Israel connections for 200-300 San Diegans weekly or bi monthly. Tarbuton engages the Jewish community, educates our next generation, connects all ages to Israel, and bridges the local Jewish and Israeli-American communities.
Adult Israeli cultural groups engage hundreds of adults annually with Israeli literature, film and dance and Israeli food programs. We bring exciting new youth programs to San Diego as well piloting them and spinning them off to new management fiscally sponsored by Startup18 Tarbuton's social venture lab and accelerator.

Social Venture Ideation Event 1/2017 -
Hackathon with Seed Funds for Innovative Projects 5/2017
Startup18, Tarbuton's social venture lab and accelerator supports nonprofit founders who launch independent projects for the public benefit aligned with Jewish values. Fueled by a grant from the Covenant Foundation and PresenTense and collaborating with the Jewish Federation of San Diego County and Leichtag Foundation we'll raise the visibility of the incredible work of Jewish and Israeli social entrepeneurs in San Diego and hopefully inspire a few more.
In the pages that follow, we celebrate hardworking social venture entrepeneurs. Learn about their cause, and consider getting involved. Want to launch your own nonprofit project? We're happy to help with your early stage needs including fiscal sponsorship and back office support. Want to support a project? We're seeking mentors and legal, marketing and financial advisors for our accelerator. Want to invest in a social venture? Ask us about our giving circle and donate to support innovation in San Diego.
We look forward to working together to have an even greater positive impact together in our community.
