Alice the Musical - July 31 - August 01, 2015

Suncoast Youth Theatre, Inc.

 End Notes

Whenever you set out on a huge endeavor it can be more than a bit daunting. Just a year ago a group of ladies talked about a big idea...a local theatrical organization solely focused on the young people of our community, an organization dedicated to nurturing their talents and abilities. Out of that small poolside get together grew the seeds of what was to become Suncoast Youth Theatre, Inc., a non-profit corporation that offers an outlet for kids to embrace the performing arts and grow their innate love for them.

This first collaborative effort has not been easy, but we have had so much given to us that we could not have anticipated. To begin with Pilgrim United Church of Christ graciously offered us the use of their facilities for rehearsals at no cost. Pastors Matthew Neumann and Bob Brown have been so wonderfully welcoming that it would be impossible to adequately express our appreciation.

Then we needed a stage to perform on...being a young organization with limited resources we needed an affordable place for the show. Again, graciously, the folks at Florida Southwest State College saw an opportunity to support local students in encouraging their participation in the arts while offering the community uplifting entertainment.

I want to specially thank my daughter, Meghan Strope, for all of her hard work on the play and putting up with everything involved.

The ladies who made this all possible have been such a blessing: Jen Manley, Jackie Slishman, Jennifer Loukota, Carolyn Yousif, Agnes Del Castillo and Terri Morrisey Sloan. They have worked dilligently and tirelessly to make this day happen. I have unending gratitude for all you have done for this organization and most of all for this amazing group of kids.
