From the Director, Erin Bradley:
Welcome to the world of Seussical Jr.! The stories of Dr. Seuss features a host of unique characters with a range of personalities and we have a wonderful cast and crew that shares the same qualities. Our story begins with Jojo thinking a think and the trouble that unfolds happens in a blink. The Cat in the Hat helps Jojo physically create this world, done the STEP VA way, with the support of his friends, the authors. The authors tell the story of Horton the elephant, the Whos, and citizens in the Jungle of Nool as he tries to keep the promises to those around him and protect Whoville on a clover and the egg in the tree. We are excited to share this production with you, with these classic Dr. Seuss stories through the eyes of our cast and crew as they worked in all areas of this production; from publicity, to costumes, set painting, to props. Each member of this cast and crew is an important piece when creating this big production. It is wonderful to see the talent, excitement, and hardwork in each part of this show from the cast and crew. Thank you for being a part of this journey and sharing your talents.
From the Executive Director of STEP VA, Jan Monroe:
STEP VA’s mission is to “empower people with disabilities and their families…” yet, I am empowered daily by these courageous, driven, uniquely created individuals in our cast and crew. When the demands of non-profit work are high, I have the privilege of assisting individuals in rehearsal who continue to inspire me. From auditions mid-December, through weekly to bi-weekly rehearsals until showtime, I have witnessed deepening friendships, struggles, frustration, growth, and perseverance, all for a common goal; to be part of a community of peers. You see, STEP VA is a family, complete with challenges that accompany going through life together. "Anything's Possible!"
