Magen Cabrera & Allison Llanos: It only seems right to write about Magen and Allison together since they came together into this club and have been the best of friends throughout their high school experiences. I never would have expected the boisterous personalities and talents both Magen and Allison had since they are both quiet young ladies in school. They do their work, pass their classes and do everything expected of wonderful students. Any teacher would be blessed to have them in their class. It was challenging enough to ask them to come out of their shell and perform on stage, but even more challenging to turn these nice girls into “mean” women. From Allison’s mean portrayal of Cinderella’s Stepmother, to Magen slapping a Prince, it took time and work to get them to “be mean” which is a testament to how wonderful these two women truly are. Thank you Magen and Allison for giving Drama Club a chance for one year; I hope the many laughs we all shared made this visit “Into the Woods” worth it.
Julie Martell: The final member of the cast I wish to thank is someone I call the "unsung hero" of the Drama Club. Julie has truly taken any part given to her and given it her all in every show that she has performed in with us. Whether it was a smaller part as Peppermint Patty, or a leading role as the Baker's Wife, Julie never gave up on her role or herself. Her attention to direction, her desire to give the best performance possible and her drive to succeed identify Julie as a woman of great potential. Her deep faith also speaks to her wonderful character, as exemplified by members of her church being present here to see her perform. I know Julie will do great things in the future and I will miss her dearly, both on the stage and in the classroom. Thank you Julie for teaching a valuable lesson to us all: no matter one's role, every single person matters, on stage and in life.
To the entire Cast & Crew of “Into the Woods,” you’ve turned this once “fearful” journey into the Woods into a journey I will never forget. You are all extremely talented; I look forward to working with many of you next year, but I will also GREATLY miss these seniors who will be leaving us this year. It will be an almost impossible task to replace each of you, but you must continue your journey “Into the Woods….” of life. Stay safe and on the path; the best of luck to all of you! May God bless everyone in this show and may He give His choicest blessings to the Class of 2019.
