From the Director:
This has been one of the most difficult years of my 30 year career. I have always been motivated to see the success of my students. This year was no exception. I have very high expectations for the level of quality performances I ask of the company.
The Senior Class of 2021 has been rising to the expectation for 5 years. We started together at Dueitt when they were 8th graders, we transfered to Spring High School together. We have had our share of ups and downs, but we always made it through together as a team, a family, a company. This year was set to be the best of them all. Then... COVID happened.
There were many tears from all of us in March of 2020 when were not allowed to finish our UIL show. So many things were canceled. I made a vow that I would do all I could to give them the senior year they deserved, and had worked for.
It was difficult implementing all of the guidelines required to have a face to face performance, a streaming production, but we did it.
I am very proud of the students for their hard work and effort, their stringent adherance to the guidelines, and their perserverance. I am inspired by you. You have met each of the challenges laid out before you, without being deterred. From wearing a mask during dancing rehearsals, learning Choreography over Zoom, and remaining socially distant through out the rehearsal process. We applaud you.
I selected Pippin for these students to do, because of the high energy, and beautiful music. These students have worked very hard to learn this musical in the very short amount of time, and I am hoping that someday, Covid will be a memory, but we can all look back and remember fondly a great group of kids who just wanted to be on stage with their friends and do a show.
This is for you, Kids! I love you. Break a leg and Knock'em dead!
