About the Director
SCOTT KOONCE is a director, actor, and singer originally from the St. Louis area. Based in New York City for 15 years, Scott was a founding member of the non-profit Stomping Ground Theatre Company. During his time with SGTC he worked in many capacities including director, set/props designer, actor, and producer. He has also worked as a director/co-director for the Larry D. Clark Summer Repertory Theatre on such shows as Ragtime, Blame it on the Summer Night Benefit, and AIDA. At Missouri Baptist University, Scott choreographed the musical stagings for Meet Me in St. Louis, The Pajama Game, and Into the Woods as well as directed the 2016 MBU Theatre Alumni Concert. As a performer, Scott has worked in such venues as NYC’s 54 Below and The Metropolitan Room. Acting credits include the original New York production of This Very Moment, West Side Story (Tony), Oklahoma! (Curly), Little Shop of Horrors (Seymour), Titanic (Barrett), Joseph…Dreamcoat (Joseph), Fiddler on the Roof (Fyedka). This work extends beyond the stage as he’s used his talents to help fundraise for the important work of Rauchenbush Metro Ministries in Hell’s Kitchen neighborhood as well as The Actor’s Fund and Broadway Cares.
