    Amanda Jeckell Choreographer

    Amanda graduated from the University of Missouri-Kansas City with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies & a Minor in Sociology. She has choreographed for several competitive dance teams & dance studios around the Kansas City area. Most recently, she was dancing professionally as a member of the Galaxy Girls Dance Team. She is thrilled to be working on her second musical with Smithville HS. Special thanks to Shelly Blay for bringing her back on board, the cast for turning her vision into a reality, & to her family & friends for their support. Let's dance!"

    Emily Rowland Accompanist

    Emily is an active piano teacher and collaborator.  Ms. Rowland graduated with a BM: Piano Performance with Pedagogy Emphasis from Oklahoma Baptist University and a MM: Piano Performance from UMKC Conservatory of Music and Dance. This is Ms. Rowland’s second year on staff at Smithville High School.

    Dave Lizor Master Carpenter

    Dave has been the Assistant Facilities Manager for the Performing Arts Center since September 2013. He has almost fifty years experience in the performing arts. Among his many talents are master carpenter, award winning Singer-Songwriter, and published poet. Dave enjoys working in Smithville and is thankful for the opportunity.

  • Justin Espey Vocal Director head shot

    Justin Espey Vocal Director

    Mr. Espey is excited to return as the music director for "Shrek."  Before this, he musically directed "Footloose" for Smithville High School.  Mr.  Espey is also passionate about his handbell choir, "The Smithville Ringleaders," who performed at the Kauffman Performing Arts Center last summer.  When he's not teaching or directing, he enjoys board games with his close friends, and working on things in and around the house.  Mr. Espey would like to thank his fiance, Ben, for his patience, support, and culinary skills on the nights rehearsals run late
