The Skyline High School Theatre program is built on the foundation of curricular offerings that include advanced study in both performance and technical theatre during the school day, supplemented by unique opportunities as part of an extracurricular season that includes two main stage productions, as well as two to three studio series productions. The goal of the main stage season is to provide shows that excite the students, engage the community and expose students to the complete canon of dramatic literature.
Each season also features two to three productions performed in Skyline’s experimental black box theatre space. The Studio Series is unique to the Ann Arbor Public Schools in that these productions are fully produced, designed and performed by students from the advanced theatre courses at Skyline. Past productions have included, You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown, Anatomy of Gray, The Brothers Grimm Spectaculathon, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, And Then They Came for Me and The Apple Tree. In addition Skyline seniors produce, design and direct a production in the spring of their graduation year.
