White Christmas - November 18 - November 23, 2013

Showtime Productions

 From the Director

White Christmas The Musical is the stage adaptation of the Paramount Pictures 1954 film of the same name.  The musical premiered in San Francisco in 2004, and played in various venues in the USA, Canada, and the United Kingdom before arriving on Broadway in November 2008.  Because of the seasonal nature of the show, it played a planned seven-and-a-half week run of 53 performances at the Marquis Theater.  White Christmas introduced a new production model -- to create a large scale, big cast, large set show for such a short run.  The Broadway stars and unions aligned to make it happen.  In 2009 the musical returned to Broadway for a second limited engagement, along with a national tour.  It's been a  regional theater favorite ever since.

White Christmas tells the story of two World War II veterans who are showbiz stars, and how they fall in love with a sister act while putting on a show to try to save their former commander's inn in picturesque Vermont.

The stage production has the heart-felt feel of the film, plus a whole lot more.  While the film had only six songs, the stage production has twenty.  The additional songs are drawn from the vast library of Irving Berlin hits which are woven into the story, creating a full bodied stage musical comedy.  Above all else, White Christmas is a Christmas story.  It's about genuinely decent people, being exceedingly generous with each other, and demonstrating that the greatest gift you can give to somebody you love is not necessarily a present you can buy.

Enjoy this ShowTime gift to the PebbleCreek community.  Your neighbors have spent countless hours designing, constructing and painting the sets...many additional hours learning lines, songs, and dance steps...and devoted unseen hours behind the sets, making the magic appear on stage.

On behalf of the cast and crew of White Christmas, I wish you a happy Holiday Season full of days that are merry and bright.
