Joel Perkins

Musical Director, Audio Design, Director

Born and raised in Saranac Lake, Joel Perkins is a fifth generation fiddler and violinist native to the Adirondacks. He received his Bachelor of Music Education degree from the Crane School of Music, SUNY Potsdam, NY in 2010. After receiving his degree, he taught elementary general music and orchestra at Bedford Hills Elementary School for the Bedford Central School District in Westchester County, NY.

He has recorded and produced five albums to his name and most recently a family anthology of eighty-six tunes over three CD's spanning five generations of Perkins Family music. Joel has had the opportunity to tour with the band Jacks and Heroes as well as performing at the Great American Irish Festival in Utica, NY with his band, Inisheer. One of his most memorable experiences was performing at a small chapel worship service that George W. Bush, his wife Laura and United States Supreme Court justice Clarence Thomas attended. 

Currently in his second year at Seton Catholic, he teaches middle/high school band and chorus in addition to middle school general music, sound engineering and guitar. He also directs the fifth grade Seton Cadet band at Seton Academy, a recent Seton addition. Always having been involved with performing arts, he enjoys drama on stage and has recently co-directed Seton's 2015 production of Disney's High School Musical with his colleague and friend, Eric Gregory.

Director

Eric Gregory is a graduate of Seton Catholic, class of 1999. He received his bachelor's degree in History from Binghamton University in 2003, and after receiving his second bachelor's, this time in English-writing from SUNY Plattsburgh in 2009, he decided to take his talents to the teaching profession.  He then enrolled in SUNY Plattsburgh's M.S.T. program, where he received his master's degree in 2011. 

Currently in his third year at Seton Catholic, he teaches 7th, 8th, 9th, and 12th grade English. In his time at Seton, he has directed two Christmas plays, while co-directing Grease in 2014 and High School Musical in 2015 with Alison Grovine and Joel Perkins respectively.  He also coaches Seton's tennis team and plays guitar in Joel Perkins' band, Inisheer.
