Big Fish - April 20 - April 22, 2017

Schaumburg High School

 End Notes

Directors Note

Welcome to the Schaumburg High School Production of Big Fish! This is our third year as a directing team, and we could not be more thrilled to have you here with us tonight.

Big Fish is the story of Edward Bloom, who brings people together through his fantastical stories and larger than life persona. It has been a challenge and a joy to make this magic come to life, working hard with our cast and crew to create a world of wonder and magic that you can get lost in.

Even with the spectacle and fantasy of Edward’s stories, what really makes Big Fish special is how it shows real, everyday relationships. Being in a family, caring for the people you love, sharing times of joy and times of struggle- these are all part of what it means to be human. We hope as you watch the show that what you will be able to see is your own relationships in the Blooms as they grapple with theirs.

In addition to the cast and crew, we’d like to thank the music and science departments, all of the patient and supportive parents, and our dedicated custodial staff. We’d also like to thank Mike Palazzolo for his infinite knowledge, Konnie Kay and John Slawson for their inspiration, Gerry James for his excellent graphic design, MHA for understanding and food, and our families who haven’t seen us in the last three weeks. This show would not be possible without everyone involved.

So relax and enjoy this epic tale!
