NOTES FROM THE DIRECTOR
Beauty and the Beast has always been my favorite Disney story. I love the strong character of Belle who chooses to be herself even when she's ridiculed for it instead of trying to fit in with everyone else, I'm inspired by the story of love and joy, and I relate to Belle's love of books and adventure and her desire to see someone's heart and not just their outward appearance.
"The Lord does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.” I Samuel 16:7b
In my 20s, I had the privilege of portraying Belle, a year and a half ago, I was able to have fun as a Silly Girl, and in between, I choreographed and directed the show. Even so, every time I'm part of bringing this story to life, the actors and crew that bring it together make it a whole new, beautiful experience.
Beauty and the Beast is not an easy show, but these students have dedicated and sacrificed their time, energy, blood, sweat, and tears to make it the best show it can be, and I couldn't be prouder! They have been an absolute joy to work with, and I am excited for them to share this story with you.
