Honk! - April 01 - April 02, 2016

Director's Note:

Honk? What is that?” Nearly every conversation I’ve had about this production has included some variation of that question. I usually respond with “It’s the musical tale of the Ugly Duckling.” But it is so much more than that. It is a story about acceptance, it is a story about self-discovery, it is a story about transformation. At first, I was amazed at the cast’s ability to relate to these concepts; after all, middle school students usually don’t discuss these types of issues and ideas. However, observing their interactions off the stage and remembering my own days as a middle school student, I realized something very important: they don’t talk about these things because they live and struggle through them every day.

So let’s join these students in celebrating what makes us different, what makes us unique. Hitch a ride down to the barnyard and enjoy Leominster’s All City Production of Honk!

Producer’s Note:

The “All City Musical” has taken another step of refinement. Each year & cast presents its own gifts and challenges. As you will see “Honk” is a perfect show for middle school students - The show, story line, cast, and staff - The combination was this year's gift.

This year’s staff truly worked as a team. Jeremy Zglobicki (this year’s Director) brought back a relaxed and educational atmosphere. He spent time with the students leading them to make their own decisions about their character and their development. The students highly respect him. His laid back demeanor has made a comfortable and creative environment for the students and staff alike. Jeremy has been great addition to the team.

Mrs. LeMay has turned into the steady, stable, educationally sound Music Director. All the students adore her. Brenda’s musical talent and teaching ability is obvious to students so they enter the show fully confident and prepared.

Nicole Skorb, our choreographer - The only description you can give is that she is the Best! From her ability to read scores, to conveying dance steps to the students, to being prepared. The Best!

The Parents involved are experienced and have such a great understanding of the process. Thank you for all your help!

It seems everyone involved has experienced refinement.

Thank You!   Enjoy the show!!!!!!!!
