Kristen Glatz
Artistic Director/Producer
Kristen Glatz has been working in Saline for 17 years, teaching both high school and middle school drama and English. She has directed, produced, choreographed, and stage managed over 40 shows with local groups, including Saline Area Players, Varsity Blues, Saline Community Ed’s Theater Guild and Jr Theater programs, and Chelsea High School. Her favorite position has been to serve as the SHS Drama Club advisor for the last 13 years, where she most recently directed The Laramie Project. In addition to her work in Saline, Kristen spends part of every summer teaching acting camps to students in grades 1-9 through Schoolcraft College’s Kids on Campus Program. She has an MFA in Creative Writing from Emerson College in Boston, a BS in English with secondary teaching certification, and a minor in Theater from EMU. Kristen would like to thank the entire artistic staff for putting so much love, energy, and passion into working with these amazing students.
Jane Panikkar
Vocal Director
Jane Arvidson Panikkar is thrilled to once again work with the students at SHS! Currently, Jane is in her 9th season as conductor of the Detroit Opera Youth Preparatory Chorus, conducting the youth opera Odyssey last April and HMS Pinafore this March. Ms. Panikkar is a pianist, trumpeter, vocalist, and music educator. Previously, she was on the music faculty at Concordia University, conducting the Chamber Choir. Jane is currently the VP of Artistic Affairs for the Ann Arbor Symphony Orchestra. She is also a church music director and is the high school/middle school choir director for HSC, one of the largest homeschool co-ops in Michigan. Jane is in high demand as a collaborative pianist while maintaining a private voice studio. She holds a Master’s degree in choral conducting from EMU, and a Bachelor of Music degree in Trumpet Performance from UofM. Jane resides in Saline with her husband, international opera singer Sean Panikkar, and their 4 children.
