The Wizard of Oz - April 08 - April 09, 2016

Robert E. Aylor Middle School

 End Notes

NOTES from the Director:

As always, I am extremely proud of this production!  This show is a first for Aylor Middle School as it is combining the efforts of so many talented students from our feeder schools and high school.  Middletown Elementary School and Bass Hoover Elementary School provided us with some amazing singers and actors and Sherando High School provided us with some fantastic artists who happen to be former Aylor Spartans.  I personally want to thank the many elementary families who provided transportation 3-4 times a week to get their children from their respective schools to Aylor.  We have certainly enjoyed working with these kids and appreciate the time you took out of your busy schedules.  I also want to thank the parents who volunteered during rehearsals and performances; staff members who pitched in and devoted numerous hours to the show; and people who donated set or costume items.  A truly successful production takes more than just what is seen ON THE STAGE.  Thank you so much to each and every one of you!

Lastly, I want to recognize my 8th graders as they embark on a new journey in high school.  I will miss you so very much.

Maddy Woolever - a true leader in every sense of the word...always willing to step in as needed (even in my absence).

Madison Alexander - the heart and soul of our ensemble for the past few years...your talent, dance experience, and leadership will be missed.

Sierra Clem -  the "small, but mighty" matriarch of the munchkins.  Your organization and leadership showed such maturity among our young munchkins.

Jesse Anderson -  one of the most mature students I have had the pleasure of working - always prepared and organized.

Joe Wagner -  always keeping the audience in stitches and loves to tease Ms. Legge just as much as she teases him - gonna miss my "Lil Wags".

Nicole Shostek - your kind, gentle mannerisms made you the perfect pick for Aunt Em and it was great to watch you develop in a larger role this year.

Jenna Arnoldy - the incredibly beautiful voice that has grown so much in the past three years in confidence and in quality - so proud of you!

Jillian Deignan - the growth in your voice over the past year has been amazing as it settled into a beautiful alto voice.  So proud of all of your hard work!

Will Miles -  so glad you joined us this year as part of the crew - you were "spot on" with the old, rusty follow-spot.

Vanessa Garcia - the "quiet girl" backstage who became such an integral part of the show - you were always on top of your game on the computer.

It is always bittersweet for me to watch your final performance.  I am so proud of all of you and the commitment you have given for three year.  It is hard to see you go!
